Hi all,

It's been quite a while since we've heard any comments about the engineair.
It's my understanding that the gear reduction boxes are now being shipped on
a regular basis and the company's previous inability to provide these boxes
was really the engine's only major problem.

I'm sure we've all looked at the TSIO 550 / Engineair performance
comparisons and, personally, it appears the engineair is a power plant that
will work very well in the IVP perhaps bringing out the very best of the
aircraft's potential.  I still have some reservations unfortunately.  In my
opinion these reservations can be addressed by those who have installed -
and especially flown - the IV/IV-P with this engine.  Now that some time has
passed and more are flying, can we revisit this subject?  Is the engineair
now, finally, a viable alternative to the Continental TSIO 550?

regards,
