On the North Slope of Alaska, flying the Bell 212, we would do lots of sling
loads and in that dry cold wx there is pleanty of static build up from the
rotating tin over our heads. To avoid knocking over the ground personnel
who would hook us up we would key the mic a few seconds just before he hit
the hook with the ring. It seemed to work...
