I have 32 years in the shipping industry as a forwarder, trucking company, located in the Los Angeles area. I DO NOT have a crate but will gladly advise you on the best carriers, how to prepare a bill of lading properly and negotiate a discount (40-60%). Having the wrong information or not enough information can cost you big bucks. Trying to settle errors after the fact is time consuming and many times a losing battle. Most truckers will want $$ prepaid or on delivery. When shipping crates: 1. Dismantle side and top panels. 2. Lay flat on the base. 3. Secure with metal banding preferably. 4. Complete paperwork with the following: a. NMFC Item number b. NMFC Class number c. Show dimensions, weight, density in the description area d. Keep size to a minimum Contact me directly for any other information. Regards, Mike Sawicki L-235 #007 ALL-WAYS Logistics Co.
