I've got it all sanded with 80 grit on long boards. I'm planning on using PPG primer and Deltron color and clear coats. My questions are: Does it sound reasonable to put on a guide coat and just simply sand out the 80 grit scratches with 220 grit? Would that be an adequate surface for spraying on the primer? And if so, how big a deal would it be to put off the spraying of primer til later when the plane is right side up? I have no spray equipment yet and would like to put it off for now and flip the plane over. I suspect however that a sprayed on coat or two of primer may not fill those scratches. Can I assume there is no major problem with spraying upside down. Thanks in advance.
