On climb out my LNC2 360 takes in engine exhaust. I've measured CO as
high as 38 ppm and the odor is strong. The good news is that this
concentration gradually decreases to 1 or 2 ppm CO after transitioning
to level flight. My Mark II is constructed in accordance with the plans.
I'll be doing some more source investigation but it appears that the
exhaust is entering in thru the flap control tube opening in the
fuselage wing fairing that abuts the inboard end of the flap. My exhaust
system is the Style III stainless steel crossover from Lancair (Snowline
Mfg.) that exits near the left side of the cooling air outlet in the
bottom of the cowling.

If any one out there has experienced a similar problem and found a fix
I'd sure like to know about it.
