Before too long, any piece of Tygon tubing in contact with avgas will become brittle and subject to failure, so it should never be used in a fuel system. The glass sight tube is probably a good idea -- short sections of thick-walled Pyrex are really very strong, provided they're annealed properly, and will stay clear for a few millenia.
