I saw this at the factory and did it on mine. When you are ready to put the prepreg panel in place just use a little RTV around the edge. I will attach a photo. BTW, for those of you who are concerned about the weight all of these aluminum bars and fasteners will add to your project, you might consider filling in those gaps with some 1-core-1 1/8"-thick prepreg that could be permanently bonded to the top of the gear box with some outdated Hysol. Try contacting Bill Maddox to see if he'll sell you some of the prepreg, as he purchased a full sheet and may have enough left to help at least some of you with locating the small amount of material it would take to do this particular job.
