This is my installation of the pitot static
port.  The hole on the right side fuselage is 1/16th drill, potted in
a piece of aluminum with the inside end angled upward and forward.  The
hole is positioned exactly as the building manual suggested.  From there to
the panel is a nylo flo as shown.  Right side only has given me no problems
whatever.  I am careful to cover the static port for any over night plus
stays.  I have a good quality canopy cover, plus, for an extended stay,
with rain/wind forcast I will put a piece of duct tape over the hole.  Yes,
one time I did forget to remove the duct tape.  Once, even with the canopy
cover, a driving rain pushed enough water into the hole that my
airspeed/altitude was affected, thus a piece of duct tape now prevents that
possibility.  If water gets in there it is a pain to get compressed air
into the line up at the instrument panel to blow it out.

As shown, I built a little shelf to cover the
aluminum and nylo flo line.  The shelf is a handy spot for sunglasses, keys
or other small stuff.

My apologies for poor quality I-phone
photos.
