Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply. Vision Micro Systems VM1000 makes no provision for data
output. Sounds like it would be fairly simple to use VisualBasic and Excel to
accomplish what I would like to do. On the other hand, I extensively used an
application called LabVIEW from National Instruments awhile back. Maybe I can
brush away the cobwebs and try to remember it all over again. Below is a reply

I'm sure someone has done this, but they haven't shared it with us.  If you
don't have any programming skills, you
should be able to find someone who likes to mess with Visual Basic and write
you a program to watch, display
and save the serial data stream coming out of the microEncoder.  If you do...
please share the results with other
customers.  We will pass it on at no charge from our website.
