Richard,
That sounds like a pretty extreme temperature rise.  Tom McNerney found an incorrect gasket under the vernatherm housing in Unleashed. It was restricting flow to the cooler.
You should be able to do touch and goes indefinitely without temperature issues.

Hello All

I am having unbelievable trouble cooling my engine.

I have installed two oil coolers, got the Zavatson plenum on, yet l can't complete a circuit without the oil temp hitting red! I am cutting out the intakes to make them larger now and opening up the outlet too.

l have a Mccauley prop on the aircraft, would this make a difference compared to the Hartzell?

Thanks

Richard
