Chris
I feel like an idiot. After I posted I went to the manual and realized exactly what you already figured out. The steel spar bolts indeed had cut some thread marks into the bushings during assembly/disassembly that I had mistaken them for the actual threads, in aluminum at that!
The steel nut is good, thank God!
By the way there is a posting in the archives back in 2002 where somebody had indeed messed up the inboard nut plate. Apparently it was not pretty replacing it!
Thanks for your response
Thanks

Tom, You should have two thin-walled non-threaded aluminum bushings followed by a steel nut plate. If it looks like there are threads cut into the aluminum bushing, then these were likely cut by the bolt threads during assembly or disassembly with some misalignment or side load on the bolt. see page 2-10 Chris Zavatson N91CZ 360std I just removed my wings for painting only to find I badly galled/stripped the aluminum threads on the spar side. I am not sure what my options perhaps helicoils but how to drill the hole perfectly straight and are they strong enough. Any advice here would be very welcome. I am in somewhat of a desperate situation not knowing if I can safely rectify this problem.
Thanks
Tom
