After seeing the recent discussions revolving GAMI injectors and swapping
them out, I would like to purchase or borrow a tool from someone who has
it or has made one so I can swap my injectors a bit cheaper.

My local FBO/maint has been charging me about $150 each time (1.5hrs of
labor) for my #6 injector and after the last flight of not seeing the
right results, I am not paying it any longer- if I had this tool I could
swap it out much easier (not having to remove intake tube)

Please email me if you have one and would be willing to rent/loan it out

Brian:

I made my own injector tool by rolling a deep six point, 3/8 drive, socket against the belt of the belt sander.  Attached the socket to a 3/8 drive bit I had for the makita drill. That way I could use the drill to slowly spin the socket against the belt. Held the socket at a slight angle to take off a bit more material toward the hex end and let it roll to make a long conical taper.  When it fits, you are done.   sooo easy.

Keep a cup of water handy to dip the socket if it starts to get too hot.

cheers,
