I've noticed that FlightAware tracking when VFR flight following is spotty at best. I spoke to a FlightAware rep at Sun 'n Fun a couple of years ago. He said that they just pull data from the FAA, and that VFR flight following doesn't always show up on the system. I had a great tailwind at FL230 going south and I recall seeing ground speeds up to 315 kts at one point. When I try to look up the flight on flightaware I just see the slow flight coming back - the fast flight going south is missing. I recall that this happened at least two more times so far: The flight going somewhere with a strong tailwind and ground speeds >300kts is missing and the flight back on the same day is there. Is this just a coincident or has someone else experienced something similar? Ralf -- For archives and unsub http://mail.lancaironline.net:81/lists/lml/List.html
