In order for Lancair to address this
issue, they would first have to acknowledge that there is an issue. That would
raise possible liability. You are not likely to hear from Lancair on this. Someone
will have to come up with a fix, similar to the Ong Debongers, and share or
sell the improvement.
Personally, I like the Cozy solution.

Legacy canopy opening is a refreshing, well thought out and logical plan of
action. My one small disagreement would be who should take the lead on
the research and testing that you suggest. LOBO is an all volunteer
organization without substantial funds or in-house engineering talent. LOBO has
concentrated it’s efforts primarily in the training area where it has shown
considerable success in reducing the accident rate. I know that LOBO members
share your concern for safety I would, however, suggest that Lancair
itself may be in a better position to take the lead on this research and I
would encourage them to do so.
