I connected the actuator rod end to the canopy with a push-pull lock well pin, and a wire to/thru the outside of the canopy. ... BEFORE I locked myself out, thankfully. Havea little taped-down ring for emergency pull.
If anything COULD happen, eventually it WILL happen.
