This might sound pretty basic, but instead of all these fancy switches and g=
oofy reminders how about just a simple walk around the airplane as your last=
 thing before you get in it.
Nobody is immune to forgetting things. At our company after we load the pass=
engers and bags is required that both pilots do a full quick walk around air=
plane. The only things we are looking for are open doors, unhooked nose gear=
 steering linkages ,chocks, covers, and carpets.
I never get in an airplane no matter how short I was out of it without first=
 walking up to the boarding door and then doing a full 360 around the airpla=
ne before I get in.
