I have close = to 1700 Tach hours and close to 1500 flight hours now. I add, maybe, = one quart of oil in 30 flight hours, sometimes none. I change oil every = 30 +/- hours and the filter every other oil change. Last annual the = lowest cylinder was 76/80. I do no training, touch and goes, wild = things. I take off, cruise, and land to visit grandchildren or just = enjoy the day. My engine was a runout O-320 with 2080 hours when I bought it for = $2800.00. My mechanic friend overhauled it for me in 1994 with 9:1 = pistons. I went through the Cermichrome problem and re-did all four = cylinders with the Cerminil process at about 500 to 600 hours. ECI was = very cooperative with warranty issues. Now, it is like a fine watch. = During initial break-in, I ran the engine full RPM and full throttle for = about 30 minutes, landed, checked things, and did it again. I provide this information, again, for what it is worth, for just an = information base. An old crop duster in south Georgia got me on the MMO = and I think it might help with things like fuel injectors, valve sleeves = and cylinder walls, but some think it is snake oil.
