Your  reference to rivets is one good reason to scrap the metal and switch to graphite IMHO.

Appreciate the assistance.  WOW, I forgot that there were 50+ rivits to drill out to reuse the hinge and top Hat pieces.  50 new holes to drill and countersink, then 50 new rivits to set. Plus the seven bolts needed.  OUCH........ New nose gear doors are turning out to be a major project.......
 
Why does it seem to take twice as long as it did when I was 10 years younger??????

Not sure if these are original brackets but with the post at 1.125" off the door, it works fine. The drawing tries to indicate the other hole is.925" from the door. Hope this helps
