Like you, I had wheel to door cutout problems. I asked the factory rep about juggling the axle spacers. His reply was that the spacers could be reconfigured as necessary to get sufficient clearance. In my case the net result was that spacer thickness was decreased. Between that and having had the factory cut shims to adjust toe-in, track is fine and tire wear is minimal. I would suggest that you check with Don Goetz at the factory. In my view he's the last word on the IV.
