I have experienced a couple of events where my engine monitor alerted that there was an over voltage situation.  My upper limit is set at 15 volts and the display was showing 15.2 to 16 volts. After troubleshooting the system the regulator was determined to be the problem. I have an adjustable regulator and adjustment was unable to fix the issue. I replaced the unit with a properly adjusted one and have about 8 hours on it without problem. The system displays 14.2-14.7 at all times in cruise. My questions are:  What numbers should I be seeing?  Is my 15V limit correct?  Would spikes of 16V damage my system? Would constant readings of 16V be bad? Any suggestions for actions needed to assure reliability?
