Angier,
It looks great, though I wonder about the adhesive.  I'm sure the aluminum will handle the heat, but will the glue?  I've never experimented, but the adhesive on the aluminum '100 mph' tape I've used didn't seem to be intended for high temps.  My two concerns are whether it will ignite, and whether it will melt or soften enough for the tape to come loose.  A test with a heat gun (on a test specimen) should be sufficient to answer the question.
