Gang,
On my Legacy I have an airspeed safety switch, the standard Lancair part no. 710 from Value Engineered Products. Mine has a strange problem: It tests perfectly on the ground (bench or on the airplane in a gear swing), but in flight it remains open and prevents retraction -- most of the time. Immediately after takeoff, gear retraction's not a problem but on a go-around, or (dare I say this) after practicing stalls up and away, it generally prevents gear retraction. I know this is not a hydraulic problem because when I rig an electrical jumper around the switch, the problem goes away completely.
So I'm thinking of trying a new replacement switch ($385 through Lancair), but thought I'd ask:
-- Anyone had a similar issue?
-- Anyone using the much cheaper ($85) Universal switch from Aircraft Spruce?
