Alternate static source or two static sources not subject to icing (front facing location) are required for IFR in Australia.  Probably derived from FAA requirements.   I remember my IFR C 182 RG had both:  two static sources on the side of the  fuselage and an alternate static knob at the bottom of the panel that connected the static system to cabin environment.

I have no particular interest in arm-wreastling with the guy but can one of you, just one of you point to an FAA legal requirement that my little pip squeak of a 360 have an alternate static source to be legal for IFR?
