John,
Thanks for stepping up to forward flak from members.
I don't center my life on negatives but this needs to be heard.
During the Flight Advisor's Breakfast, my guest noticed there were no
applications to fill out for consideration to become a Lancair Flight
Advisor/Tech Counselor. This is a good time to recruit new people into the
ranks and EAA is not taking advantage of this happening.
Tom Poberezny didn't impress many people, in ear shot of me and my guest,
with his talk to greet attendees to the breakfast. He appeared tired and
disinterested in what he was there to do. The other speakers talked about
stuff off the mark of common interest and way too long about stuff with
little value. That is ... they left out specific stuff to do with safety in
building/flying homebuilts. However, many attendees were refreshed after
their early morning naps during the talks.
Vendor's food is still too highly valued.
The free breakfast was great and many thanks to the people who contributed
to getting it organized and down the road to success.
