I hand't thought about the external GPS plug-in = limiting using the iPad for other stuff. I also have a Garmin 396, and there's GPS in the Grand Rapids Tech = EFIS... which is why I was uncertain about getting the G3.=20 What's your small cigarette lighter inverter? And ... the USB charger = to the Dual GPS? Do you use them now -- with the G3? Complicated by also considering going soon to an iPhone.
