GPS antennas inside the fiberglass wingtips of my Legacy are working very well (Garmin 900).  They are mounted level and I worried that perhaps they should be angled slightly outboard so that one of them would be upright during any turn -- but no problems at all.

Occasionally, the GPS signal for the Chelton would be lost for 2 to 45
minutes in level flight.  The Garmin 396 with its antenna under the glare
shield always had a good signal.  I mentioned the problem to Freeflight at
Oshkosh a couple of years ago and they made me a deal to swap the 1101
(supplied by Direct 2) for a 1201.  I have not had a problem since.  Steve Colwell  2 screen Chelton
