Angier,

I have had Andair Gascolators on a RV6 and Legacy for about 1600 hours.
Here's what I have learned.  The filter will stop particles so small you
can't see them without magnification, even in sunlight.  I use a Jewelers
Loop to inspect and then clean the screen by gently blowing from the inside
out.  A surprising amount of fiber strands and tiny particles will remain,
mostly near the base.  I carefully pick the fibers off with pointed
tweezers.  In my opinion, it is an excellent design and the best fuel filter
available.

By carefully locating a hole in the Legacy cowling directly under the
Gascolator sump valve (small diameter valve outlet, from AC Spruce) you can
slip a 6" length .33 inch OD brass tube up that allows sumping into a
inspection cup on pre flight.

So my question is this. Will foreign matter smaller than 70 micron pass
through my IO360 injector system?
You can tell that I have no idea of the injector orifice size!

Thanks,

Angier Ames
