The new wing modifications you are asking about are offered here at Fibercraft Inc and are called CATS (Cuff And Tip System). We build them for all versions of the Lancair IV and ES. This system consists of a carbon fiber leading edge cuff that is added to the outboard section of your wing and blends into the wingtip that is designed to work with them. We have installed and flight tested this system on several Lancair IV's and in every case have found it to greatly improve the slow speed and stall handling characteristics. We have also found this modification to improve cruise speeds and lighten aileron stick forces when exchanged for winglets. The pilots that have flown with this system installed have all been very pleased and most comment that all Lancair IV's should be fitted with this improvement for safety.
