You hate to turn it off = since that will surely be the time you need it most. It was extremely = hard to install. I gave up on it a took it to the factory to have them = do the final installation. I remember it took 2 full days and at one = point Lance said "what the hell is going on here".The answer to the = question, I think, is that it works off of air pressure thru the pitot = tube. I know this because to do a gear test on the ground you have to = bring the airspeed up to 100 with mouth pressure thru a plastic tube = attached to the pitot tube. I am under the impression that Lancair no = longer sells or supports the item.
