I'm currently running my fuel lines and am concerned that the fuel supply firewall penetration fitting called put in the manual may cause interference between the pedals/feet and fuel lines. Page 26-26 of the build manual I have calls for a 2240-6-8S bulkhead fitting, which has a male 3/8-18 pipe thread on one end (screws into gascolator) and a male JIC 37 degree flare with 3/4-16 threads on the other end. The problem is that this fitting is over 2" long, meaning that it protrudes far enough aft to make me worry that an errant passenger foot or the right passenger rudder pedal (adjustable pedals) will cause damage to the fuel line. When threaded, approximately 1/2-3/4" of unused thread is visible. I called Lancair yesterday and was told to use a C5506x8 fitting. This 90 degree swivel fitting has a female 3/8" pipe thread on one end with the same 3/4" flare fitting on the other end. I just don't know what the pipe thread end would screw onto. Does the gascolator now have a male -6 (3/8") pipe thread that protrudes aft through the firewall where the C5506x8 holds it in place? I'm not aware of a male-male pipe bulkhead fitting. What are others doing? On a separate topic, are most Legacy builders using the blueprint penetration locations (throttle/mixture/prop, brake reservoir, gear hydraulic lines, etc)? I'd like to drill the holes before bonding the firewall flame blanket but don't want holes in the wrong place. I'll be installing a relatively stock IO-550N. Thanks, - Kyrilian L2K-236
