My Lancair TSIO-550 fastbuild includes a Lancair-fabricated cooling shroud over the fuel pump:

The shroud is held in place by the scat blast tube and a stud off the top of the fuel pump that penetrates the shroud and holds the nut you can see in the above picture.  I noticed the shroud on my engine was loose, and discovered the stud had snapped due to vibration:

Lancair replaces one of the screws securing the top part of the fuel pump with the stud that holds the shroud:

Fortunately the stud broke in a place allowing straightforward removal and replacement with a screw.  If you look closely at the shroud picture, you can see the shroud was abrading the pump inlet and fuel return outlet elbows.

I replaced the shroud with a simple blast tube pointed at the pump, which so far is working fine.  The shroud seems counter intuitive anyway, as it seems to me the shroud would contain some of the heat radiating off the exhaust crossover tube on the rear of the TSIO-550E after shutdown.
