ramp the air on the right side from the cooling intake to the
top of the baffling use carbon fiber. Cut out the center and
make a lens with Plexiglas mount your light behind
the lens

Subject: [LML] landing light 4P

Dear subscribers,

I had to remove my landing light from my lower cowl due to an interference with my baffling/cool air duct for the cabin.

I now bought the 2 halogen lights from Lancair.

Question: where do I mount them? I have seen 2 possibilities so far:

  1. On the nose wheel strut – I recall seeing rub marks at least on one other 4P at the inside of nose gear door – obviously it is pretty tight there
  2. In the air intake for cylinder cooling to the right side of the propeller. I made new baffling – it is really stiff – I wouldn’t have any concern mounting the lights to it – is there any known effect to the cooling?

Ideas and thoughts are appreciated

Ralf

One more thing off the subject: when I google my name on the internet I find tons of emails that I sent to the lml list because they went through some kind of virus scanner. Since I used to put my phone number and adress in my mails it just makes me feel a little uncomfortable knowing that everybody in the world can read my stupid questions to the lml list on the internet.
