Thus my answer was to get help and if not, to comply with the SID. My apologies if this was the wrong starting point. However - the advice remains the same: use the proper gauges to set the system and then compare their readings with whatever indicating system one is using (Chelton, Garmin, Grand Rapids ...) If that indicating system permits a calibration, the baseline gospel would be the figures set by way of the SID and the proper gauges. One could then monitor metered or unmetered with the knowledge that they are above the redline specified in the SID when their cockpit indicator says so. One "WAG" told me that if you have to get rid of one gauge/indicator, it would be fuel pressure because it provides the least information upon which to base a decision. Fuel flow would be better in their opinion. I'm not sure if this rationale is enough to make the decision as to which pressure to monitor. Dan: Where does TCM recommend using metered fuel pressure?
