Hi Jon -

Setting up the fuel system is not an uncomplicated task. You need the right equipment (eg. two calibrated, damped gauges) and a lot of other information. I would strongly recommend that you get an A&P who knows the continental big bore engines and has a lot of experience with them. A Bonanza shop would have one or more. Barring that, make sure you down load the SID97-3E from the Continental website and study it carefully. I believe we had a IV go in right after takeoff because of an overly rich mixture.

I'm setting up IO 550 in my Legacy. I'm taking the fuel pressure off the
metered side (spider). The typical Lancair setup attaches the fuel pressure
line to the unmetered side which I think would only show the fuel pump
output. How is everybody else setting up?
