Hi Greg,
Yes, I've got some of the Aeroleds products. I bought the
SunSpot landing light for our IV but thought that I'd try it out in our 320.
(photo on their web site). Works great. I like it so much that it's staying
on the 320 and I'm buying another one for the IV. I came to the same basic
conclusion that you did, lighter, brighter product. I also bought the SunTail
nav/strobe for the IV. Fantastic product. No power supply required, no fat heavy
shielded wires, no radio noise, just 3 - 20 gauge wires out to the rudder. I had
already built some wing LED nav lights for the IV. If I hadn't already built
those, I'd get their wing lights also. The obvious negative is cost...they ain't
cheap. OTOH with a life of 50,000 hours or more you won't ever spend any
more on maintenance or bulb replacement. The landing light uses so little power
(less than 3 amps at 14v) that I leave it on all the time...day or
night.
I've got no connection to the company, I just like to
spread the word when I find a product that I like.

At Oshkosh, I saw a newer company
called Aeroleds (www.aeroleds.com). Looked like a
lighter, brighter retrofit for Whelen products and landing lights.
Does
anyone have experience with this product?
