OK, I know, not a “pure” Lancair topic – I
apologize in advance. I bought this Piper Arrow III to build complex time
while I was finishing my Legacy (I take my training seriously), and it served
the purpose well, as the transition to the Legacy was fairly easy, that is,
once I mastered that everything happens in the pattern about 10 knots faster in
the Legacy (and after I received some great HPAT Training). So, if anyone
out there has the same transitional training need, N36749 is a great airplane and
available at a reasonable/negotiable price. In any event, if you know
someone in the aviation community that is looking for a good, stable, x-country
platform, please forward this email on to them (unless, of course, you can talk
them into buying a Lancair)! For all those builders out there that are
only building, not flying, please consider getting back into the left seat to
“knock the rust off” before jumping behind the stick of a newly
completed Lancair. This Arrow III bridged the gap well between a C172 and
the Legacy. The “complex” operation of gear and prop needs to
be “second nature” before jumping into a Lancair, at least in my
opinion ….
Fly safe,
