Velocity uses a 310 hp TSIO-550C in the XL but there could be some difference in design between engine models- I'd ask. That being said, reverse thrust sounds very interesting. I'd be concerned about the erosion that Jeff Liegner mentioned. During winter we have a lot of sand in use and it takes a toll on aluminum props. I'm not sure that composite would last very long, even without reverse thrust.
