Subject: Modus Ponens and Auto Spark Plugs

There is a rule of logic named Modus Ponens. This rule states that if  
A implies B and A is true, B must also be true. For a more detailed  
explanation of Modus Ponens take a look in Wikipedia.

It seems like many of our lister's are using a rule that we used to  
call Modus Polens or Polish Modus Ponens. This rule states that if A  
implies B and you can find a few of instances if B, A must be true.

Totally illogical.

Even if auto plugs worked many, many times in aircraft engines, this  
would not prove or even imply that they were designed for this job.

We are flying experimental airplanes and should feel free to  
experiment but don't in any way assume that because something works  
once, twice or even a few times, that it was designed to do the job.
