I think that we, as pilots, often over-rate our capability of being able to "save the day" with spur of the moment instinct and good training. The most depressing evidence of that notion is our own (Lancair) safety record. Maybe what we should be discussing (instead of beating our collective chest) is what's the possibility of installing a "blue button" and a parachute on our Lancairs..... Ron Laughlin Legacy Edmond, OK
