Amoung other things he custom fabricates plexiglas for aircraft, including several old warbirds for Planes of Fame in Chino. He recommended getting a pack of commercial terrycloth towels (Costco, etc.) and washing them in 4x contration of fabric softener, and storing them in a sealed plastic container. He said to hose off the window with plain water and your hand to get the bugs/major dirt off. Then clean/polish it with plexi cleaner (he prefers Novus #1) and aterry cloth towel. After one use put the towel in another sealed container. After all the towels are used once then when wash/soften them and use them again. He said most of the microfibre cloths you get have too much static that cause them to hold dirt on the surface. Paul Bricker N63PB He thinks the packs of microfibre towels you can get hold too much static, that attracts dirt to get ground into the windows. -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Art Jensen Sent: Monday, May 26, 2008 8:34 PM To: lml@lancaironline.net Subject: [LML] Microfiber towel v Cotton towel I think we have a handle on the cleaners to use on the canopy. But, which towel is best/safest to use on the canopy and the paint? I always thought that a soft cotton towel to be the best.
