You need the low profile quick drain from Lancair. Do a gear retract test after installation to ensure the nose grear does not hit the quick drain in flight--draining all your oil. Minimal clearance on a IV/ / IVP.

Lancair lists a Continental quick drain (shown below) in their on line catalogue.  It looks like you remove a cap and screw on a hose which seems like it would make a mess.  I recall quick drains that contain valves – push the hose on, push the valve up to open, and drain with no mess.  Am I missing something here?  Recommendations?
