Some of you might have seen the yellow, replica of Tony LeVier's 1938 racer, the Firecracker, on the Red Barn lawn at Oshkosh last summer. I had it built here in CO and am the primary pilot. I just went up to OSH (left it there last summer) and flew it down to Sun & Fun and then out to Riverside, CA, where it resides at Flabob Airport. It was an uncomfortable, bone jarring, 3000 mile trip in this dynamically unstable little machine, but worth every frustrating minute. Those planes were designed to "go fast, turn left" on the racing circuit, not go on cross country flights! It should start making some west coast shows in the future. NO MORE long trips.
