Matt, From Lancairs point of view, the CG limits are the CG limits, regardless of which options you have installed. If you have the long mount, for instance, the CG of your plane will be further forward (usually a good condition) compared to an identical plane with a short mount. << Is there anything else I need to know before I tackle this project?>> It cannot be stressed enough the importance of having reliable and accurate scales. Accuracy is critical, so do not use the suggested station locations, rather, enter the various gear weight readings on the spreadsheet to arrive at the correct station locations. Take the time to get readings with (1) an individual on the pilot seat, (2) dead weight in the baggage area, and finally add fuel to the (3) header and (4) wing tanks (don't forget to remove fuel from header if you are using the spreadsheet). The spreadsheet will calculate the different weights (difference between the empty wt and the existing weight condition) and the station location. When you download my WT&Bal spreadsheets, please take note of the figures in 'blue'. These are the input fields, all the other fields will be computed for you automatically. When you are satisfied with your figures, you can print the pages (reduced), sign them, and include these calcs to your operators manual and for the FAA paper work. Hope this helps...
