I am also using the Engineair V8 and chose to put the batteries (also recombinant gas units that can be installed sideways) under the baggage compartment floor outside of the landing gear legs. Power relays are also there as well. I can send photos if you are interested. Tight fit, but can be done. I recommend raising the floor slightly to make it easier, but I managed to get it all in there. I understand there is no room on the firewall, even for the starter contactor which is mounted on the cockpit side. Fred
