Some discount places will sell you the units but they charge $200-250 to prewire them. They will not ship them without that. I finally purchased my equipment through Southeast Aerospace, FL www.seaerospace.com/. They will sell them outright and had by far the lowest prices ( GNS was $ 800 lower than closest quote ). I'm using Archer antennas. Regarding comments about Sandel: It makes a lot of sense using the Sandel in a new installation. It will save you a lot of other equipment such as announciator panel, markers, GPS CDI and a HSI head ( huge space/ weight saver). Not to mention the absolute sexappeal this unit has over anything else on the market. I would agree with you that an autopilot is nearly a no-go decision for a long cross country trip.
