The aluminum-backed ADC006 foam is heavy! The comment about 30 pounds of soundproofing is quite believable. I rode in Orin's turbo-360 at Oshkosh two years ago. I was much quieter than the Cessna 150 I fly. It may have been the same as my Miata when it goes 70 mph. I didn't have a decibel meter, but I did take off the (Bose ANR) headset and was amazed at how quiet it was. I asked him about soundproofing and he said he didn't have any. I looked under the panel and could see the bare firewall plywood/fiberglass, so I know there wasn't anything there. He also didn't have any rubber weatherstripping along the canopy frame, either. If seems if you build it tight, there's little noise! (Comments from y'all who are flying, comparing your aircraft to a 150/172, and specifying your soundproofing, if any, would be greatly appreciated here...) Having said that, I plan to install the ADC006 and fiberglass batting under the subfloors. I'm strongly considering ADC006 alone on the interior side of the cockpit closeout ribs. But that's all. I have a pair of Lightspeed 20K headsets. Best money I ever spent, and a whole lot lighter than soundproofing! - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
