Yet, there’s no ready source of these quality parts for the Legacy community. Though, there are some excellent professional builders that provide them as an exclusive feature of their service. Here’s a photo of a set on Don Barnes’ airplane under construction in case there’s any confusion about what I’m talking about: <image001.jpg> We’ve found a source that can produce these stainless steel exhaust tunnel shields (for lack of a better name) for the Legacy. The minimum production run required to achieve a reasonable price point is about 12 airplane sets (left and right sides) at about $800/set. The manufacturer does not want to deal with marketing, advertising, accounts receivable, customer support, etc. So, since I need a set myself, I’m checking to see if there’s enough interest out there to have a production run made for a group of us. If so, I can just use my existing Starflight website to handle info, orders, payments, etc. for everyone (http://www.starflight.aero/legacy). I’d guess even those with finished Legacy’s might be interested since it looks like an easy retrofit installation. If you’re interested in purchasing a set of these premium, polished stainless steel exhaust tunnel shields, please let me know at: Thanks, Valin Thorn
