Regarding hydraulic cylinder stops, I wasn't clear perhaps, but my washers
are on the other side of the stop. The rod end side. It never occurred to
me to put them on the cylinder side. Now what was pointed out to me is that
my solution works up to a point. The stop can only be pushed down the rod
to the point where it bottoms on the rod shoulder at the end of the
threads. If you need even more stop length than this, then you would have
to either put washers on the bad side or lengthen the stop.
