I was surprised to read that you experienced no change in speed with the
nose-gear removed. I had noticed a 2-3 mph drop in cruise speed, and someone
then asked me if I knew my nose-gear door wasn't closing. I fixed the cam
which had moved out of position for the sequence valve, and my speed came
back! 'Course, this was with the door hanging straight down, not removed. But
when my gear is down, I smell engine stuff! I put an electro-magnet on the
back of the nose-gear door to hold it shut; works well!
