I have the same Mid-Continent AI, and the Sorcerer has it's own GPS
source.  I flew all the initial hours using just those instruments while
the CrossBow 425 problem was being sorted out.  They work in a pinch but
certainly not preferred!

I have a Mid-Continent "Lifesaver" gyro and am very happy with it.
